Many divorce proceedings or separations get started because the two people in the relationship grow apart and there is no commonality.
What their needs to be is one of the persons to step up and be the hero of the relationship

One way to this is get a complete understanding of the wants and desires of the other partner.
Let me give an example:

Say the wife/girlfriend in the relationship says to husband/girlfriend that she wants to go on New years Eve to a club where the admission alone is $ 50.
And the cost of drinks are really really expensive.

Well, the other husband/boyfriend in the relationship says he would rather go to Jims , a local bar that is free admission and the drinks are reasonable.

A pretty big disagreement ensues. And this is where the Magic of Making Up can comes into play. The husband/boyfriend tries to get a feel and understanding of his wife/girlfriend. Then he begins to paraphrase what she wants. And try to understand her grounds and figure out a commonality they can reach. He knows the wife wants a ‘banging’ New Years Eve.

He might say something like this :
‘ Honey, I know you want to have fun tonight and I want to also. Did you know their is this new club down the road that is also going to be banging tonight ? She says wow, that sounds great. ‘

Little does she know or even care that it costs nothing to get in and thus two have found a commonality. And the two get what they want…….he a savings in money and her a fun night.

Of course a scenario like this will most likely not cause a divorce or break up in of itself, but enough of these disagreements over time can put a strain on the relationship.
